Chris Morton
Painter
Chris Morton has been fascinated with the natural world around him since his formative years. His natural daily routine was to go into the wilderness to learn and observe the ever-changing light, the changing of the seasons, the diversity of plant life, and all nature's creatures. Painting was the most direct way he knew how to communicate his knowledge and his deepest truest feelings about nature. He received instruction by his friend and internationally celebrated Master painter George McLean (Bognor, Ontario) in addition to master painter, Dwayne Harty.
Painting from life, plein air has become Chris' obsession and passion. McLean refers to Chris as "one of the best plein air painters in his field". Chris' paintings have received many awards over the years and are shown in the most prestigious galleries across Canada, yet you can find him traveling to the most remote locations in Ontario in his pickup and red canoe, traveling very similar as his idol, Tom Thomson. Chris' work is currently on display at the prestigious Algonquin Art Centre in Algonquin Park. Follow him at http://www.cdnartist.net or on Facebook: Chris Morton FineArt
